Cilla Black

Cilla Black's career started when the Beatles' manager,
Brian Epstein
, signed her as his only female vocalist in 1963. Epstein
convinced George Martin, producer at Parlophone/EMI, to offer her a recording contract.

Cilla issued her first single, "Love Of The Loved", a Paul McCartney's composition in September 1963. She issued two other compositions by Paul: "It's For You" in 1964 and "Step Inside Love" in 1968. Cilla also covered Beatles' songs on some B-sides of her singles ("Yesterday" and "For No One").

 
   
 
 

Cilla Black had two big hits in the UK charts in 1964 when she released "Anyone Who Had A Heart" and "You're My World". These singles both  reached #1.

Better known in recent years as the UK's most successful television host, Cilla Black captivated audiences with her variety shows, people programmes and theatre or concert appearances.
